What’s included and what to expect

The BigQuery Performance & Cost Toolkit combines ten documented, read-only INFORMATION_SCHEMA diagnostics with a tested Python CLI that renders scoped SQL and analyzes your exported CSVs offline. Review billed bytes by job and day, expensive query shapes, slot usage, queue-delay signals, storage snapshots, partition layout, reservation capacity and tables with no observed direct reads.

Each query has a field guide covering what it shows, when to use it, common false positives, likely remediation and query-cost considerations. A worked investigation connects those findings to controlled benchmarks, remediation decisions and rollback. The offline report ranks jobs, flags failures and missing labels, and compares two storage snapshots. It requires no GCP credentials for local setup.

Includes source code, tests, sample exports, CI, architecture decisions, security guidance, agent instructions and a versioned customer ZIP. Built for data engineers and platform developers who want a practical starting point for BigQuery operations.

Important limits: the CLI does not run BigQuery jobs. The sample rate is illustrative; report amounts are not invoices. A table without observed direct reads is not proved unused. Live-cloud acceptance was not run for this release. The commercial license is a draft pending legal review.

One-time purchase. Non-refundable except where applicable law requires a remedy. Ongoing engineering support and cloud charges are not included. Purchase contact: [email protected].

Who it’s for

Data engineers and platform developers investigating BigQuery workloads.

Requirements and supported scope

  • Python 3.13 or 3.14 for the CLI.
  • Exported BigQuery CSVs for offline investigation; no GCP credentials needed locally.
  • Appropriate IAM and query-cost review to run the SQL yourself; the CLI does not submit jobs.

Why purchase this instead of generating it with AI?

AI can generate similar code and is useful for adapting these materials. The purchase gives you a specific engineering foundation to inspect: integrated examples, tests, documented decisions and explicit boundaries. Compare the included verification and limitations with your needs. You still need to configure, test and review changes for your own environment.
